Terex Articulated Boom Lifts
Kinds of Boom Lifts or Construction Lifts
A boom lift is a piece of machinery which allows employees to perform tasks without having to build a scaffolding. They are used to work on elevated structures, to do maintenance work and are common machinery found in factory and warehouse environment too.
Normally, construction lifts offer powered and wheeled bases which are capable of driving to the work location and have a platform on them that is responsible for elevating personnel. There are many different types of lifts and each one is suited to various jobs and settings.
Bucket trucks, which are usually called "cherry-pickers", carry a long boom which has a bucket attached at the end. This bucket area is where a worker can stand. Commonly, bucket trucks are utilized by landscapers and by utility workers. Landscapers usually utilize these equipment to cut trees.
Every bucket truck has a boom assembly mounted to a regular truck, that enables these vehicles to move swiftly on regular roads. In addition, this increases the area that this machinery could service efficiently. This is particularly important for power companies. For example, many of these companies utilize cherry pickers to raise workers up so they can work on and reach transmission lines. The buckets have to be inspected frequently and insulated properly since they are working close to possible shock hazards.
Knuckle lifts or articulated boom lifts include a work platform mounted to an arm that could bend and reach obstacles. The base of the lift contains a turntable and is capable of turning the lift in a full circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels also for extra mobility.
Normally, the articulated boom lift is used for landscaping projects but is also handy for maintenance work on projects which are already finished. Projects that do not need easy access directly beneath the jobsite. These lifts can be used to repair piping or exterior electrical work, and areas which are difficult to clean. Normally knuckle lifts are driven by the employee in the platform with the extended boom.
