Daewoo Cushion Tire Forklifts

Daewoo Cushion Tire Forklifts

Solid Lift Truck Tire Safety
More than 200 deaths each year in North America are caused by forklifts, or lift trucks. Correct inspection and maintenance of lift truck tires could really help to reduce the risk of accidents.

Pre-Work Inspection
Before the start of each shift, the tires on the lift truck should be checked for indications of wear and damage. The air pressure inside the tires needs to be inspected to ensure the pressure is not too low. Having a tire pressure which is low could make the equipment susceptible to tip-overs while lifting loads.

Types of Tires
The tire type of the forklift would be based upon the kind of floor surface which the forklift will operate on. Solid rubber tires are recommended for indoor use. For smoother surfaces, tires tend to be smaller. Bigger pneumatic tires are best for lift trucks being utilized outdoors. Pneumatic tires can grip rough surfaces well because they have rubber tread and are air-filled.

Other factors
Any lift truck used on a continual basis should be checked at the end of each shift, based on OSHA guidelines. The tires must be inspected once more for any indication of damage, like wear or cuts.

Lift truck Safety
Forklift safety is important for any employer or employee utilizing a lift truck because lift truck accidents could be serious causing personal injuries and even death. Even minor accidents could cost your company money if the goods or the forklift are damaged in an accident. Be certain you are well informed about forklift safety issues.
