Types of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are one of the most commonly used types of crane within the construction business. They are used to construct everything from skyscrapers and buildings to freeway overpasses and roadways.
Cranes come in a wide range of units, styles and sizes. These various models enable both the operators and owners to carry out many more functions within their industry. Choosing the best type of crane is really essential for making sure that the material can be safely and efficiently moved to the place it needs to get to in order for the construction process to begin.
Truck Cranes
Truck cranes would typically have 2 different cabs. One cab is used to drive the truck unit when in transport mode, whilst the other is for controlling the crane. These cranes are extremely useful for building locations where a crane is needed in many different places for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane can be driven easily from one location to another.
Moreover, the cranes could be transported to different construction sites on the road since they can drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly lessens transport costs at the end of the day.
The truck crane on the other hand is not stable enough to handle all the major loads that a hydraulic crane could handle. Thus, to be able to fix this issue, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers utilize hydraulic pressure to be able to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has big tracks on the bottom of the crane. These massive tracks are very like bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks allow the crane to move around a construction site successfully.
