Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is designed for lowering and lifting loaded pallets from high storage areas. This type is recommended for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, such as warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires which make maneuvering very simple.
The operator of this particular type of forklift usually stands up inside a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: two in the front, and one in the back. This design enables for easy and fast maneuvering. There are some models of these forklifts which come with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to move the entire machine. The sit-down version normally has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered by an electric engine. Electric-powered equipment are not noisy and do not produce exhaust fumes, making them the suitable option for closed areas such as retail spaces. Several lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. Nonetheless, the diesel model is not suggested for indoor application since it could be noisy and produce exhaust.
