Forklift Accidents
Forklift mishaps are often due to the careless operation of the forklift. This happens when the operator of the forklift is not trained properly in safety measures. Anybody operating a forklift must use caution to be able to reduce the risk of accidents and in order to prevent potential dangers.

Forklift Accident Statistics:
Reporting on forklift accident occurrence is OSHA, that is also responsible in monitoring the safety of the worklplace. On average, every three days someone is killed in a forklift mishap in the US. Roughly 95,000 injuries occur in forklift related accidents each and every year. The vast majority of these accidents could have been avoided if correct safety measures had been followed. There are also web sites dedicated to reporting stories of forklift accidents.

When there are mishaps related to forklifts, both the individual and the business would suffer. There are lots of reasons why employers need to take steps to minimize the risk. One of the biggest reasons is to prevent risk of lawsuits if somebody is hurt. Secondly, accidents cut down on working time. Thirdly, property and merchandise can be damaged during mishaps. Nearly all mishaps are attributed to employees who are not well trained. Employers are responsible for making sure that all workers who are utilizing the forklift are properly trained in risks and safety. Never let anybody on a forklift who isn't trained to operate the forklift. Your business must develop and post in a place that is visible all forklift safety procedures.

Workers should have a positive attitude when they go through training, rather than doing it just because they are required to. You as the employer should help employees know the importance of proper training. Let them understand that they can injure or kill not just themselves, but other people, if they make mistakes. It is up to you to ensure that all your staff go through training seriously.
