In order to be a successful unit, a forklift has to be strong enough to last in all working environments for numerous hours of use. It has to be able to move cargo quickly and efficiently as well. The machinery must also be comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator.
The Yale powertrain is rugged and reliable. It has to be powerful enough to always provide amazing strength through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs along with extremely tough shafts and strong gears. The transmission, engine, steer axle and drive are all isolated to decrease both vibration and noise inside the compartment of the operator.
GM & Mazda Gas & LP Engines:
GM's gas engines and Mazda's LP engine use cast iron blocks to promote long life. These types of equipment provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which requires minimal repair or adjustment. These types of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which lessen wear.
Yanmar and Cummins Diesel Engines:
Within the Cummins and Yanmar diesel engines, a high compression ratio offers excellent torque. Amazing fuel consumption is provided by efficient fuel systems.
Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The standard Electronic Powershift Transmission features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts that maximize resistance to rough driving. The strong clutch packs provide 3 times the life of preceding packs. Last of all, there is available electronic inching which adjusts automatically so as to decrease maintenance requirements by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal which increases durability, extends tire life, and minimizes shock loading. In addition, the auto deceleration feature reduces both brake wear and brake pedal usage.
Drive Axle:
Made for extra strength, the drive axle features its full floating, brake drum mounting axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This component also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are completely sealed against contamination and practically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from debris and damage. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist front to back and side-to-side forces. Also, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
Yale had made many safety features and ergonomic features part of their standard packages. These equipment will handle tough settings, while keeping the operator both comfortable and safe for the length of their shift.
