JLG Telehandlers Maine
John L. Grove decided to retire after spending many years working side by side with his brother to build their crane manufacturing company into a world leader. John as well as his wife Cora celebrated their retirement by going on a cross-country journey using their recreational vehicle. After that trip, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the world's leading manufacturer of specialized material handling machines and mobile aerial work platforms.
During the R.V. trip, John spent a lot of the time talking to prior business associates that the Groves stopped to visit along their journey. Tragically, while they were visiting the Hoover Dam, 2 employees were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. During subsequent conversations, John discovered a huge untapped market for a product that could safely and quickly raise people into the air to be able to perform construction and maintenance functions.
When John and his wife returned from the journey, John decided to take action. He and two dear friends began a partnership and afterward purchased a small metal fabrication company within McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. During the year 1970, with an initial group of 20 employees, the trio built and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. Many components of the basic design elements of that very first machinery are still being integrated into the existing product
Ever since John L. Grove first drove back into town from his cross-country trip, the business has come a really long way. They have significantly grown since their first aerial work platform originally launched on the marketplace. Even today, JLG continues to expand into additional worldwide markets. Many innovative products are made to help customers work safer and be more productive.
JLG has remained committed to being the leader in the business. The company takes operator comfort into consideration really seriously. They strive to deliver in performance, in addition to safety and overall comfort so that the operator could be as effective as possible.
